Emmi Pet - 100% Ultrasound Teeth Cleaning

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at doggroomingcolorfultailstina@yahoo.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Emmi®-pet is an ultrasound toothbrush (each dog has their own personal toothbrush) and a specially formulated ultrasound toothpaste.

Ultrasound reaches deep below the gum line to kill germs and bacteria and clean the teeth and gums to prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar.  At the same time, it increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.

  • Completely silent
  • Gentle way to clean the teeth because there is no need for mechanical movement
  • Breaks down bacteria and promotes blood circulation in gingivitis. Your dog can’t tell you when they have toothache, so it’s essential that you take steps to prevent it.

Regular teeth cleaning is recommended by veterinarians

A tooth extraction and clean at the vets will typically cost around £600+. Getting your dog’s teeth cleaned regularly will avoid costly vet’s bills in the future.

Regular cleaning is the most important measure in the fight against dental decay.  Ultrasound (air waves – air oscillations) perform the cleaning so brushing is not necessary.  Ultrasound cleans more effectively than regular brushing, destroying bacteria even in gum pockets.

Neglecting your dog’s dental health can have other serious health implications, as bacteria from a dental infection can result in other organs being compromised, including the heart valves and kidneys.

Although we would recommend more regular treatment, even having your dog’s teeth treated when they come in for grooming will be beneficial, as the ultrasound waves kill bacteria right under the gum line and will help to keep your dog’s teeth healthy and consequently improve their overall health.  If you notice a build up of plaque, you can book a course of sessions to get back on track

The Emmi-pet Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning System effectively combats:

  • Gingivitis and periodontitis
  • Oral cavity diseases
  • Plaque and tartar build up
  • Bad breath

Ultrasound reaches deep below the gum line to kill germs and bacteria and clean the teeth and gums to prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar.  At the same time, it increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.

Puppy teeth will begin to fall out when the puppy is between 4 and 6 months old. Timing varies by breed; some smaller breeds tend to hold on to their baby teeth longer. But once most dogs are 7 to 8 months old, they will have traded their first set of chompers for a set of 42 permanent adult teeth.

It is estimated that by the time they are 2 years old, 80% of dogs will begin to show signs of oral disease.

By using ultrasound tooth cleaning as part of a regularly scheduled routine, you can avoid taking your pet to the vet for a professional cleaning, which can only be achieved with full anaesthesia.

Well, your first appointment will involve a consultation to assess any issues that may need a vet visit before commencing.  All being well the first treatment takes an hour to an hour and a half .

Subsequent maintenance treatments take around 30 minutes and can be added on to the end of your regular grooming appointment.

Emmi Pet - Tooth Cleaning

The number of sessions needed will depend on the condition of your dog’s teeth. A large tartar buildup will take approximately 3-5 sessions to get clean. Once your dog’s teeth are squeaky clean, maintenance is recommended every 6–8 weeks. Please note that the recommended frequency for optimum results from the ultrasound tooth brush is weekly, although more often is fine too. Longer time between cleaning = fewer results, to none results!
