Please read the Terms & Conditions carefully before booking an appointment. By booking an appointment, you agree to be bound by these terms, set out here. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then I will be unable to groom your pet.
Due to the large number of last-minute cancelations and no-show up on Saturdays, I had to do some changes. Full price of grooming session must be pre-paid to secure an appointment for Saturday. The deposit will only be returned if you cancel 48 hours before an appointment.
I am offering extra Saturdays, which are my day off, for customers who works in week and are not able to come in. As a small business, I can’t afford so many cancelations. I understand things can change, but I need for Saturdays at least 48 hours of cancelation notice to be able to book in somebody else or make other plans. When booking in, please make sure you will be able to bring your pet. Who wants to book on Saturday will be contacted by me with bank details and the price of the groom (deposit). If the final price of grooming will be higher (matted coat, aggressive behavior ... ) it will need to be paid in person after the groom is finished.
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior dog/cat or dog/cat with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by us. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to your Veterinarian. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner.
At least 24 hours notice is required if you are unable to attend your appointment or need to reschedule. I also require prompt drop off and pick up so that the rest of my appointments are able to run smoothly. As a small business, I unfortunately cannot afford to lose out on income for these appointments so please let me know in plenty of time if you can't make it!
When booking an appointment, the owner is obliged to inform Dog & Cat grooming colorful tails Tina whether the dog/cat has aggressive tendencies or has ever previously bitten anyone. I work on a one-to-one basis and if your dog/cat is aggressive or nervous, this will mean it may take longer for me to groom your dog to minimise stress of the dog and to prevent myself from getting injured. Aggressive behavior charge will be applied, the amount depends on the level of aggressivity and total time of the groom.
Please ensure that your dog/cat has had a chance to go to the toilet before coming in to my salon, they can become unsettled during their groom if they have not been beforehand.
Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina are unable to groom pregnant or in season females and will not provide services for any dogs noted under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Should your female be in season during the time of a pre-booked appointment 24 hours notice must be provided.
As the dog owner you agree that Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina and its owner (Martina Bajusova) shall not be held liable for any cuts/nicks/grazes or any post groom effects caused whilst removing a matted/neglected coat. These effects may include, but are not limited to the following; itchiness, skin redness, ear hematomas or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing, licking or scratching .
Coat Condition
Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina practice humanity over vanity. If we are presented with a neglected coat and believe, in our professional opinion, it is kinder to remove the coat than it is to de-mat this will be done in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006. Whilst we will make every effort to identify this as part of the pre-groom consultation and coat assessment there may be occasions where the degree of matting cannot be fully identified until we commence the groom.
In this event we will make every effort to contact you however if this is not possible we will, in our professional opinion, do what we believe is in the best interest of the welfare of the dog or cat. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you are expressly agreeing to the following De-Matting disclaimer.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: – this includes prolonged ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of the dog and cat. If you bring in your dog/cat with more than 15 minutes of de-matting work, we are required by the Act to clip your dog/cat short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same. We will only attempt to de-matt 5% of a dog/cat – which equates to about 50p sized mat behind each ear, same size in the armpits and perhaps one or two in the groin or tail area. We have assessed your dog’s/cat’s coat and found it to be matted, therefore it needs to be clipped short. This can be prevented by daily brushing with a slicker brush and comb. Will be happy to explain the correct way to brush your dog/cat and suggest a grooming programme that will allow us to achieve the look you would like for your dog/cat, this may involve more frequent visits to our salon and will certainly involve daily grooming at home. When a dog’s/cat’s coat becomes matted, it causes discomfort as the matts pull tightly on the skin and underlying health conditions may not be visible. When a matted coat is clipped short, it may occasional reveal sore, reddened and irritated skin, this is due to the fact that the skin has not been able to breathe, and air circulation is not restored. Clipping a matted coat can take longer and cause additional wear and tear on our equipment so a further fee may be chargeable in addition to the normal groom price.
The process of de-matting increases the risk of injury including but not limited to cuts and grazes, skin irritations caused by the shortness of the clipper blades that will be used as well as possible haematomas. In addition, you may see some behavioural changes such as head shaking, excessive scratching, licking and “scooting”. This is where the dog will scrape their back end on the floor to relive itching and irritations. Should you have any concerns you should seek advise from your usual vet.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES of £5-£20 on top of the full groom price dependent on severity of matting, may be incurred due to the wear on equipment, additional products used, as well as time and skill needed to remove matting.
While we understand that sometimes appointments have to be cancelled in an emergency, as a small business we do ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice where possible, prior to appointment cancellation as this will enable us to offer your space to another customer on our waiting list. In the event of a no show, the full appointment must be paid before any new appointments can be booked with Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina.
Please note that dogs/cats with flea’s may be accepted. The owner is obliged to inform me about the fleas before booking an appointment, as I do have available only 1 appointment at the end of the week to perform anti-flea bath. My salone needs to be closed at least for 12 hours after your visit to make sure salone is properly cleaned.
This covers the coat of flea elimination: pets with fleas are washed 2-3 times with specialist shampoo, towels must be bagged and laundered separately, and the Spa must be thoroughly cleansed and disinfected.
There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Possible problems that could occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quickening of the nails. In most cases, this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process, it can be dangerous to continue the groom.
Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina allows up to 24 hours from the time at which the groom was carried out for the owner to report any injuries (cuts, scratches), which were discovered after the grooming. Later discovered injuries may be understood as injuries that occurred out of my salon. However, I am always referring to the owner if any skin issues were discovered before the groom even took a place or accidents which occurred while your pet was groomed. But ... As we are all humans, sometimes it may be forgotten or lost in our conversation. So if you find anything, let me know as I am able to clear it out if I discovered it.
Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina allows up to two days (48 hours) from the time at which the groom was carried out for any amendment needed. For example, shortening of the body coat, removal of more facial hair etc. If it is outside of the 48 hours then the normal charge will apply.
By using our services you agree to hold Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina its owners, harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the dog, either known or unknown to us. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all dogs and cats groomed.
